SPEAK Up! Docuseries
The SPEAK Up! Docuseries is an advocacy-driven project created by and for self-advocates with IDD. This series will document the lived experiences of 30 self-advocates and their families across Kansas.
We want to share stories of resilience, challenges, and triumphs.
From education and employment to healthcare, transportation, and community life, this project will amplify the voices of people with IDD and demonstrates the power of advocacy in shaping a more inclusive Kansas.
Are you a self-advocate with IDD or a family member of someone with IDD? We want to hear from you!
The SPEAK Up! Docuseries is looking for individuals across Kansas to share their experiences navigating life’s challenges and victories.
By participating, you will help inform policymakers, educate the public, and inspire others in the IDD community.
Apply today and let your voice be heard!
Participating self advocates and family members will receive a $100 stipend (one payment per family).

Why Advocacy Matters
Self-advocacy is about making your voice heard and shaping policies that impact your life.
When we advocate together, we have the chance to drive policy change, raise awareness, and help build communities where everyone belongs. Advocacy is not just important—it’s essential for equity, dignity, and opportunity!
