Are you passionate about improving the lives of Kansans with IDD?

Are you looking for ways to share your advocacy skills, talents and passion?

Bring your gifts and energy and join us on the Council!

KCDD is welcoming applications for new Council Members. Our dedicated Council Members help support the mission of KCDD year-round and ensure that Kansas’ is working to advance the goals outlined in our five-year state plan to achieve our goals in building a more inclusive state. We are encouraging the following individuals consider applying: 

  • Self-advocates with IDD
  • Family Members
  • Nonprofit Leaders 
  • Professional in the IDD field 

 

As a KCDD Council Member, you must:

  • Participate in our quarterly Council meetings held throughout the year 
  • Serve as an active participant on a Council Committees 
  • Join our advocacy movement for Kansans with IDD 

 

As a member you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet and network with self-advocates, parents/family members and caregivers 
  • Advocate alongside the KCDD team to advancing critical issues impacting the IDD community in Kansas and nationally for IDD 
  • Share your story, experiences and expertise regarding matters affecting IDD 
  • Learn more ways to get involved in the Kansas IDD advocacy movement, participate in conferences and other forums around the state 
  • Serve as a disability leader in your community, with like-minded organizations and fellow advocates around the state
